A fabulous old cottage. Lovely and cosy with comfortable beds. Great location. Lovely costal walks close by. Short drive to numerous beaches. A relaxing get away.

We had such a lovely time at Grenfells Cottage. Yes it is small, and the ceiling in the kitchen is not ideal for those over 6' tall, but it is so charming and thoughtfully furnished that the issue with the ceiling is easily forgotten. Step into Grenfellsl Cottage and you leave the pace of the outside world behind and enter a place of calm, comfort and homeliness. The walls are covered in paintings and other pieces of art are scattered thoughtfully throughout the house and the furniture is totally in keeping with a cottage of this age. Lloyd and Morwenna have made this a wonderful place to stay. We loved it! This cottage has everything you need for your stay and the two bottles of wine and a £10 voucher for local eateries was a lovely addition and much enjoyed. We used our voucher immediately at The Trewellard Arms at the top of the road and in fact dined there three times during our stay. They are very welcoming to humans and dogs, the food is delicious and you don't have to drive! Not surprisingly they get very busy at times, so be aware! This part of Cornwall is very special to us. To be able to walk down the road to the beautiful coast and immerse yourself in the remains of what was once the thriving tin mining industry is amazing and you don't have to go far to get to beautiful beaches. We have been many times and will keep on coming. This was our first stay at Grenfells Cottage but we hope it won't be the last! - Diana

A big thankyou to Lloyd, Morwenna and Michelle for our relaxed, enjoyable week spent at Grenfells, The cottage has all that you need and more, we arrived to having 2 free bottles of wine, and a £10 voucher towards a meal at a choice of a few local public houses. A short stroll down the lane takes you towards the Tin mines and the beautiful coast line, On leaving we felt very relaxed and didnt want to return home but will definitely return to explore some more areas. The cottage is situated near to Lands End, St. Michaels Mount, Penzance etc, we re-visited other towns to relive some special memories that are held dear to my Step-mum and my dad when he was alive. Again thankyou for letting us stay in your lovely cottage it has a lovely, warm, relaxed, feeling as soon as you enter the front door and we would definitely recommend it to friends and family. - Michele. Stayed with two friends and my two dogs. Cottage is lovely and homely feeling. Loved the all the amazing art work and ceramic bits and pieces about the house - this made it feel more like home compared to some of the bland places we have rented. Dogs were lovely and secure in rear garden but wouldn’t trust them unattended in front garden. It was great to have the sea so close and some nice tracks to get to it as opposed to walking down the lane. I got my Citroen Berlingo into rear parking area but feel that is about limit size wise and you would need to park larger cars out front. - Jean

Very convenient location, nothing is too far away and easily accesible by car. Everything you need is in the house. Walking around is great experience. Food in the pub is just perfect. Ocean view from the yard - sunsets are amazing! It is a place which we would love to visit again.

We’ve stayed at Grenfell’s Cottage twice now - such a lovely, cosy and characterful cottage in a beautiful and tranquil location, close to everything you need. There’s a pub at the end of the road and others close by, the coast path and tin mines are at the other end of the road, and it’s only five minutes to St Just, which is a fab little town with the Kurt Jackson art gallery, shops, and plenty of places to eat. Really a special little cottage and a great base for exploring the many wonderful beaches, towns and sights. - Ruth Walker

Nicely done out traditional cottage with plenty of space. Location is a short walk to the coast, one of the most rugged and picturesque parts of the coast is between here and St Just which is walking distance.

Really welcoming cosy cottage, everything you need for self catering. The village is in a great location, so quiet and relaxing. There are several places to eat and drink within easy walking distance, we would definitely recommend The Meadery for an unusual evening out.

We loved this cottage. It was welcoming, homely, and peaceful. It had everything needed for a perfect holiday. A big thumbs up from us! - Maria

Stayed in June 2016 for my birthday. On a arrival couldn't believe our luck, so much more than we had imagined. Though we had some rain we were happy on those days to enjoy the warm homely ambience of Grenfell. Plenty of walks and super eateries in walking distance. Two lovely small real Cornish beaches close by - dog friendly. The holiday was everything we could have wished for thanks to the lovely accommodation and also to Morwenna and Lloyd the owners who provided so much useful information and for whom no query was too trivial. Thank you Lloyd and Morwenna, we will definitely come again. Corinne Smith

The cottage is absolutely beautiful and has everything you could possibly need. It's cosy and comfortable and we settled in quickly. The cliff walks were gorgeous and we took our dogs everyday. Beautiful place and area, would definitely come again. Thank you for giving us a wonderful holiday. Gwen

We really enjoyed our stay for a number of reasons. We could walk down the lane to a fascinating coast path and the lane was so pretty with late Spring flowers. We could walk to a pub which served good meals, or to the Field House which served even better meals. We were within a short driving distance of many places of interest.
The cottage was warm, comfortable, well equipped and with artistic and quirky touches. The vouchers and the welcoming bottles of wine were a great touch.
You were a great find!

Thank you

This is our second stay at Grenfells Cottage and hopefully not our last. The owners themselves cannot do enough for you and in fact whilst we were there the bedside light blew so the owner arranged for a local electrician to fix it the same day - what service ! Its extremely homely and cosy and we made full use of the log fire. Low ceilings so tall people need to duck down but its so quaint I would recommend this to anyone, very well stocked and you are left needing nothing at all. Also in a lovely peaceful part of Cornwall but easily accessible to places.

The cottage was great the best equipped cottage i've ever stayed in and it was super cozy and comfortable and had lots of old fashioned charm. As well as this it is perfectly situated, minutes from the cliffs and coastal paths and minutes from 2 fine pubs and short drives or leisurely walks from lots of ruined tin mines and bronze age ruins, and standing stones and local art and cream teas. Perfect.

We loved the cosy sitting room ans the sunny terrance in front of the cottage. Well equiped and well situated for the visit of this very end of England. Great pub and lovely restaurant just around the corner.

The whole cottage was very clean and well presented. It was very well equipped with everything you need in the kitchen, an outside utility room with an excellent washing machine and dryer and towels for everyone. The beds were very large and comfortable, even the singles. The living room was really cosy with a wood burning stove and plenty of reading (and drawing) materials all provided. There were two gardens to enjoy relaxing in. We did not bring our dog but it would have been perfect for a dog owner with an enclosed garden and lots of coastal walks surrounding the cottage. I honestly cannot recommend it highly enough whether you are a family or a couple looking for a country hideaway.

Just returned from this truly delightful cottage. It is an old miners cottage and has been tastefully furnished and yet has the old world charm about it still. Very well equipped and whilst it is a little out of the way of the centre of things this is just what we wanted and it is so peaceful and quiet. You can walk down to Levant tin mine and it is only a 10 minute drive to Penzance or 15 mins to St Ives. The owners are lovely and we had regular correspondence prior to our visit and there were 2 complimentary bottles of wine, milk, initial supply of tea, coffee and sugar and some vouchers to use off a meal at a local eating establishment (choice of about 6) which was very generous considering the price of the rental for this property. All in all there is nothing you could fault with this property at all, it was simply fantastic and well recommended.

A truly lovely period themed cottage in the beautiful surrounding location made our stay a wonderful experience. The cottage itself with all it's traditional fixtures and furnishings gave the whole experience a very warm and inviting feel, and to couple this with sea views and location within the village makes a very relaxing holiday.

So peaceful and comfortable with a warmth of atmosphere you find rarely in a holiday let. I really felt Id 'come home' as the arrangement in detail re the furnishings and gorgeous artefacts inside and out were just laid out with such good taste. This all made me want to just relax relax relax. I cannot praise this place enough. I would recommend this wonderful cottage with five stars without hesitation.

The cottage is fantastic, very relaxing location and excellent for walking the cliffs with spectacular views. Very clean and tidy, but has everything you need for a home from home stay, the kitchen has all the bits needed to cook for a family. A lovely touch is the welcome pack and bottles of wine, also gift vouchers for local restaurants, cafes and pubs. Overall our family really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.
